The Second Line, a Memphis inspired New Orleans casual dining restaurant


Just another day in Memphis as we pay a visit to Kelly English’s Second Line. This creole-born chef has just a few restaurants under his belt, including the big-sister restaurant of them all, Restaurant Iris

At the restaurant, guests and locals can experience famous poboys sandwiches, seafood plates, roasted meats and unique cocktails. Second Line provides a casual, and laid back atmosphere with an outdoor patio perfect to hang out with family and friends.


Chef Kelly English could have selected any city to plant and grow his restaurant roots, however he choose Memphis, so we asked, “Why Memphis?” 

“You can do whatever you want in Memphis.

Memphis has been good to me.

I love Memphis."




Chef Kelly English has been recognized for his contribution and support of the community and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. He has also received recognition from the James Beard Foundation, Food & Wine, CNNand USA Today.

Second Line is named after the famous "second line" parades in New Orleans.
